Bat Selection
- If player cannot hold the bat for 20 seconds without the arm starting to shake, it's too heavy.
Stance
- Feet comfortably wider than shoulders, set in a square stance.
- Toes pointing towards the plate.
- Knees slightly bent with weight centered on the balls of the feet.
- Upper body bent slightly at the waist, eyes towards pitcher.
Grip
- Hands together above knob.Weight shifts to front foot; back foot stays on the ground
- Dominate hand on top.
- Door knocking knuckles form a straight line.
- Hold bat firmly, don’t squeeze.
Swing
- Short step with the front foot at start of swing.
- Swing level so that the bat hits the center of the ball.
- Watch bat hit the ball and keep head down.
- Hit through the ball. Follow Thru.
- Drop the bat; do not throw it.
